Trying to think of great ideas for Dad to celebrate Father’s Day can be challenging. We came across some novel ideas that we thought might be helpful to share for making Father’s Day special for your Dad this year. One good idea was to create wonderful memories by sharing in an experience that your Dad enjoys. Examples included:
Grill With Dad: If your dad loves to grill, he will love it even more if he gets to grill with you and the family. If you have time, buy him a grilling cookbook or check out TheFind blog post on grilling gadgets to inspire your Father’s Day meal together.
Gardening Day: Does your dad have a green thumb? Helping Dad out in the garden is a great way to spend Father’s Day with him. Plant a tree somewhere in the yard that you can watch grow year after year or plant a vegetable garden ““ every time he sees your handiwork he will be reminded of your day together. Be sure to check out TheFind blog post on gardening tools you can get him before you head to the garden and if you have young kids, check out TheFind blog post on tips for gardening with young kids.
At Ohio Valley Goodwill, we have some other ideas that could be just the right thing for your Dad this year. If your Dad loves to golf, Goodwill is hosting its 14th annual celebrity golf outing on June 19th at the beautiful Glenview Golf Club. Registrations are still available and Dad can enjoy a wonderful day of golf alongside Greater Cincinnati sports and media celebrities. He’ll also be doing a good thing in supporting Goodwill’s mission of service in the Greater Cincinnati community. And, you could also qualify for a tax deduction. That could be a win-win all the way around. To find out more about this year’s Goodwill Celebrity Golf Outing, visit www.cincinnatigoodwill.org/events.
If your Dad loves cars, then Goodwill’s weekly Auto Auction could be just the ticket. Held every Saturday morning, this week’s featured car is a 2004 Jeep Liberty and it’s Red…just seems like a perfect gift for Father’s Day this year. And, finally, if you just need to find a gift that could be just the right thing for your Dad this year, Goodwill could be the place to shop. With 15 stores and an ever-changing inventory of sports equipment, vintage vinyl, books, watches and more, Goodwill could be just the place where that unique treasure that you need for your Dad is waiting.
