Ohio Valley Goodwill’s award-winning Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE) was the headquarters for a Reds celebration on Opening Day, April 1st. Like all Cincinnatians, participants were excited about the annual tradition and figured out creative ways to commemorate the Opening Day festivities. Following the watching of a live stream of the 2013 Reds Opening Day parade, the group enjoyed a party with Reds-themed cupcakes, a raffle drawing with Reds souvenirs and a general celebration leading up to game time. “Opening Day is always a big event for us in the CARE program,” said Lois Kramer, Supervisor. “It always marks the official start of Spring and the beginning of our many outdoor field trips as the weather gets warmer,” added Kramer.
