"On Veterans Day and Every Day, Goodwill is Helping Our Heroes on the Homefront"

There are more than 20 million veterans in the United States, and 500 more return home each day. Many of them are right here in the Greater Cincinnati area. This Veterans Day, take time to think about how you can help our returning veterans transition to civilian life “” not just today, but every day of the year.

Millions of veterans face significant difficulty transitioning back to civilian life, including physical disabilities such as traumatic brain injury, psychological disabilities such as post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as substance abuse, homelessness and long waits for benefits, among others. Veterans Day presents a good time to think about how we can help these millions of heroes make that difficult transition from service overseas to life at home. At Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, we’re dedicated to doing just that. Goodwill works with individuals to create holistic, individualized plans to ensure long-term economic security, including job training, financial assistance for training classes and support services such as financial assistance, free tax preparation, and assistance with finding permanant housing.
