Accompanied by Butler County Board of DD Administrator, Tanya Coffey, the new Superintendent was provided a warm reception and extensive tour of the organization’s headquarters by President and CEO, Joe Byrum, along with members of Goodwill’s management team. Ms. Guliano was surprised to learn the extensiveness and diversity of the organization’s programs and services designed to serve individuals with disabilities as well as our nation’s veterans. The Butler County Board of DD team visited all of the organization’s award-winning programs including the Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE) as well as its Work Adjustment Training option and Skill Training areas. The Superintendent was pleased to find out more about Goodwill’s Job Placement, Coaching and Work Evaluation services as well as to visit all of the organization’s business divisions. “The tour was very informative and helped me to truly appreciate the scope of Goodwill’s programs and services not only for people with disabilities but for our nation’s veterans as well, ” said Lisa Guliano, Butler County Board of DD Superintendent. After completing the tour of the corporate headquarters, Ms. Guliano and Ms. Coffey were then provided a walk-thru of Goodwill’s Butler County Vocational Services Center located in Fairfield. The Butler County site while smaller in scale provides employment and training opportunities for an average of 40 individuals per day through Goodwill’s partnership with the Board. At this location, the Butler County team were enthusiastically welcomed by the participants and enjoyed a discussion with Goodwill management on the organization’s efforts to emphasize Employment First. “We are very proud of our efforts to help individuals to access community employment,” said Leslie McCurley, Asst. Director of DD Services. Ohio Valley Goodwill is grateful to Superintendent Guliano and Ms. Coffey for their visit and interest in finding out more about the organization’s programs and services and looks forward to an on-going partnership in supporting individuals with disabilities in the future.
