Steve Driehaus, First District, Ohio Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to welcome Mary Ellen Sullivan, Outreach Director for Congressman Steve Driehaus, to its corporate headquarters on Monday, July 12th for an extensive tour of its programs and services. Goodwill CEO, Joseph Byrum, conducted the comprehensive visit which included all of the organization’s skill training and employment programs, its award-winning CARE (Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education) program, the Work Adjustment area, as well as the Veterans dormitory and the Contributed Goods building. Ms. Sullivan was impressed by the scope of the organization’s programs and particularly services for veterans. “I will certainly let the Congressman and our team know about the many programs that Goodwill offers to the Greater Cincinnati community,” said Ms. Sullivan at the conclusion of her visit. “I am glad to have more information about the many skill training, employment and case management services that Goodwill offers to individuals with disabilities as well as our veterans,” added Sullivan. Goodwill PR and Marketing Director, George Palmer and Marketing Specialist, Sharon Hannon, also provided insight as to the organization’s long history as an environmental pioneer and social innovator of the “reduce, reuse and repurpose” movement for the past almost 95 years. Ms. Sullivan was interested to learn that when people donate to Goodwill, their donations are used to support the organization’s mission of putting people to work and at the same time, diverting unwanted items from landfills. Ohio Valley Goodwill thanks Ms. Sullivan for her visit to the organization and looks forward to working collaboratively in the future on behalf of the individuals that Goodwill serves.
