It’s that time of year! Time for back-to-school shopping and spending. But wait — before you hit the mall or those big box stores with long lines and high prices, head to your nearest Cincinnati Goodwill first!

Whether your student is headed to a new classroom or a dorm room, Ohio Valley Goodwill is the place to find back-to-school outfits for a fraction of traditional retail prices. We often have the pieces kids need for school uniforms, such as navy or khaki pants, skirts, and shorts, and polo shirts in various colors.
Because kids grow so quickly, there’s a good chance many of the childrens’ clothing items you’ll find at Goodwill have been barely worn and are in great condition. It’s also not uncommon to find new-with-tags clothing in Goodwill stores — just keep your eyes peeled!
#2: Accessories for All Ages
Accessories are the perfect way to let students express their unique sense of style. From shoes to jewelry to watches, you never know what great accessories await on your next Goodwill shopping trip!
#3: Backpacks, Lunch Bags and More
Last, but not least, every student needs a bag to carry their books and supplies! Check out Goodwill’s array of backpacks and tote bags in different colors and styles. Our shelves also often have lunch boxes or lunch bags, water bottles and containers, and thermoses.
Here’s a money-saving tip: Instead of pre-packaged snacks, you can buy your students’ favorite foods in bulk and refill reusable plastic containers or pouches. Snacks like trail mix, chips, crackers, fruit slices, and applesauce or yogurt are great for this. You’ll cut down on spending and single-use plastic waste!
