With spring cleaning season in full swing, it’s the perfect time to tidy up, organize, and scrub away the winter blues. You may already have a plan to tackle the major areas of your home — bedrooms, bathrooms, the kitchen, and living spaces. But don’t let spring pass you by without decluttering these commonly missed spots:
Hallway linen closets or coat closets tend to collect clutter and seasonal items that become “out of sight, out of mind.” Take some time to pull out all the items from your closets and sort through them one by one. You just might realize you’ve been holding onto things you no longer use or need anymore.
Everyone has a drawer (or multiple drawers!) that become a catch-all for small items that don’t have an obvious storage spot. Resist the urge to skip this area in your spring cleaning! You may find some “hidden treasures” or items you’ve been missing.
Lastly, don’t forget to declutter your storage spaces from time to time. The start of a new season is a great opportunity to sort through the belongings you’re storing and determine if you really need them or not. We tend to hold onto things like sporting equipment, special occasion outfits, electronics, and books. Think of all the space you could free up if you don’t need to store these unused items!
