Goodwill Celebrates New PigAbilities Launch Event with Cincinnati Zoo!

Team Goodwill was excited to be part of the first-ever PigAbilities public launch event in partnership with the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday, March 9th. The first-time public celebration was created by the PigAbilities planning team which is composed of members from Paycor, Pig Works, Ohio Valley Goodwill, Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services and the Cincinnati Zoo. Goodwill is the proud Title Sponsor of the annual PigAbilities event which is part of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon and is designed to be accessible and welcoming for athletes of all abilities. The goal for this year’s PigAbilities event is more than 1000 athletes to participate and the new Zoo public launch event was created as a Media opportunity to get the word out to the larger community.
Longtime Board member and celebrity spokesman for Ohio Valley Goodwill, Joe Walter along with President and CEO, Mark Hiemstra were featured in a welcome video produced by Game Day Communications to kick off the event. PigAbilities athletes were also on hand to give their perspectives of the importance of the PigAbilities event as part of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.
Training Experience
The formal program was followed by a training experience on the grounds of the Cincinnati Zoo which could be individualized based on the needs of the athlete. Game Day Communications was on hand to cover the festivities. Goodwill is grateful to the Cincinnati Zoo and to its PigAbilities planning partners for their support of this important first-time media event and is exceptionally proud of all of the PigAbilities athletes and coaches who chose to participate in the public launch.
