Ohio Valley Goodwill Recognized at Good Fortune Dinner by Clermont DD!
Ohio Valley Goodwill team members were delighted to be in attendance at the 2022 Good Fortune recognition dinner event hosted by long-time partner, Clermont DD. The annual celebration has not been held in person since 2019 as a result of the impact of the pandemic and was quite the “family reunion.” The Good Fortune dinner is designed to recognize supporters and friends of the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities including providers, staff advocates, self-advocates, families, employers, volunteers and friends of the organization who have contributed to the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the larger community.
Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to receive a Provider Recognition Award in honor of the organization’s service to individuals with disabilities served by Clermont DD. Paula Smith, Goodwill’s East Program Supervisor, accepted the award on behalf of the Vocational Service Center and its team.
A special highlight of the evening was when Dylan Johnson ; an individual served by Goodwill’s East program was included in the Self-Advocacy Recognition award. This is a group of individuals who work collaboratively to speak up for themselves and their rights in the community and to help mentor others to find their own voice.
“I couldn’t be more pleased for Dylan for being recognized for his self-advocacy efforts along with the other self-advocates recognized. It was a wonderful moment for everyone in attendance to be able to congratulate these individuals on their hard work,” said Paula Smith, East Supervisor.
Ohio Valley Goodwill congratulates Dylan as well as all of the other recognition award recipients for the well-deserved honors presented by Clermont DD at this year’s Good Fortune dinner event.
