Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to welcome new Executive Director, Prince Garuba, of the Ohio Association of Goodwill Industries to the organization’s headquarters on Tuesday, February 22nd for an extensive tour of the facility as well as orientation meetings with the Goodwill staff team. Garuba is from Texas and is just learning about the unique qualities of the 16 Goodwill organizations throughout the State of Ohio. Previously, Garuba had worked for the Ohio Legislature and is well-versed in policy development and legislative advocacy efforts.
The Goodwill team provided the Executive Director with an overview of its many programs and services including its Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE) program; Employment Services as well as Veterans Services; Training and Assessment ; Pre-Vocational Services as well as its Contributed Goods operations. Following the tour, Garuba met individually with Leadership team members and President and CEO, Joe Byrum, to talk about funding and legislative priority issues for Ohio Valley Goodwill as the organization continues to recover from the impact of COVID.
Moving forward, as the new Executive Director of the Ohio Association of Goodwill Industries (OAGI), Garuba will be working collaboratively with the CEO group from the 16 Goodwill organizations as well as management leaders on legislative advocacy efforts in support of policy issues of importance to the non-profit organizations.
Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to welcome the new OAGI Executive Director to its corporate headquarters and looks forward to a collaborative partnership moving forward.
