Kitchen Throw-Back (Way Back!)
For this Valentine’s Day dinner challenge, take your date to your closest Goodwill store, and pick up a retro cookbook. Look for the most unique one you can find, filled with recipes your relatives probably made way back when. Before you leave the store, close your eyes, flip through the book, and wherever it lands is the recipe you’ll make! Then, grab the ingredients on your way home and get to cooking.
You may end up ordering take-out, but you’ll definitely have a laugh while you whip up something like a ham and bananas hollandaise (yes, that’s a real vintage recipe)!
Date Night Outfits
You’ve probably heard of this challenge, but it’s always worth a mention since it never gets old. To embrace the Goodwill Date Night challenge, head to your closest Goodwill store with your date (or good friend!) You each get $20 to pick out a special outfit for each other. Whatever you pick ““ your date HAS to wear, and vice-versa. No backing down!
And once you’re at dinner, mum’s the word. No mentioning your outfit choices. You’ll probably get a few funny looks from strangers, but it’s bound to make a great memory!
Game Night
If you’re looking for a quiet night in, plan on a game night! Each of you should pick out a board game or two at Goodwill to play that night. You might even find an old game your date’s never played. Nothing brings on nostalgia quite like a board game from your childhood.
Craft Challenge (Double Date)
This idea is even more fun with friends. Set a budget, and then shop at Goodwill to find gently-used home décor and craft supplies that can be repurposed. Each couple gets one hour to paint, decorate, and transform their piece into something unique. Reveal your masterpieces and vote on the winner!
