Ohio Valley Goodwill’s corporate headquarters was the place to be on Friday, September 3rd at lunchtime. The organization’s Maintenance team hosted a Grill-Out for members of the Goodwill team in recognition of everyone’s extraordinary hard work and commitment over the past year and a half to the agency’s mission and operations. Like other non-profit organizations and businesses in the community, Ohio Valley Goodwill was tremendously impacted by the mandated closures related to COVID-19 in March 2020 and continuing through May. The organization is still in a recovery mode and each and every team member has been critical to that recovery effort.
The lunchtime Grill-Out featured an array of grilled choices and sides for everyone to enjoy and was prepared by members of the organization’s Maintenance team. Goodwill team members from its various business lines including Donations, Programs and Services, Retail, Marketing and more all took advantage of the special occasion and enjoyed the opportunity to relax and recognize everyone’s shared commitment. “We are very grateful to our Maintenance team for coming up with this wonderful idea and actually making it happen,” said Jeff Eastham, Vice President of Operations. “It has been a tough year and a half and it’s nice to just have a chance to take a deep breath and laugh for a minute,” added Eastham.
Goodwill employs more than 700 people through its Retail stores, Donations Centers, Vocational and Employment Services, Industrial Services division as well ancillary support operations. Our most sincere thanks to the Maintenance team and Director Keith Koerner, for this generous effort in supporting the Goodwill team.
