Tuesday, September 22nd is National Voter Registration Day! This nonpartisan civic holiday celebrates our democracy by educating citizens and encouraging them to register to vote. Since National Voter Registration Day was first observed in 2012, nearly 3 million people have registered to vote on the holiday.
Ohio Valley Goodwill has long been committed to providing voter education and registration outreach to help Americans participate in the election process. We believe that engaging voters is critical to Goodwill’s mission and the success of our communities!
Why vote? Voting is important, for every election. Voting gives you a chance to have a say in who will be making decisions on the issues important to you. It gives you the opportunity to express your voice and make an impact in your community. But in order to vote, you need to be registered!
Check your voter registration status. It’s important to update your voter registration with accurate information to ensure you’re able to vote in the next election. You can check your registration status at Vote.org.
Register to vote. If you’re not registered, you still have time! Voters have until October 5, 2020 to register for the November 3, 2020 General Election. In Ohio, you can register online, by mail, or in person. It only takes a few minutes to get registered and ensure your voice is heard!
Spread the word. Once you’re registered to vote, encourage your family and friends to join you and VOTE! Use #NationalVoterRegistration on social media to remind your network about the importance of voting.
Your vote counts! Thank you for taking the time to express your voice and strengthen your community by voting.
