As part of the on-going celebration of ADA30 throughout the month of July, Disability Pride 2020 is proud to present an Inclusivity Panel on Thursday, July 16th at 1 pm. Being moderated by former Cincinnati Council member Kevin Flynn, the panel will include Paula Brehm- Heeger, Director of the Pubic Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County; Heidi Pettyjohn, Executive Director for Accessibility at the University of Cincinnati and Erin Rolfes, Corporate Affairs Manager for Kroger’s Cincinnati-Dayton Division. The panel discussion is designed to be interactive and will be available via Zoom and Facebook Live. The panel discussion will be focused on enhancing accessibility and inclusivity for all people in the Greater Cincinnati community and forecasting a vision for the future.
Moderator Kevin Flynn is a retired partner with the law firm of Griffin Fletcher & Herndon LLP and was an adjunct professor at the University of Cincinnati, both at the College of Law and Lindner College of Business. A former Cincinnati City Council member, Kevin chaired a variety of committees all focused on improving the Greater Cincinnati community. Kevin is active in many volunteer activities and serves on numerous boards including six current non-profit boards, two of which focus on Independent Living for persons with disabilities.
Panelist Paula Brehm-Heeger is the Director of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. With a focus on expanding access, community and civic engagement and innovation, Paula is a strong and passionate advocate for public libraries. She oversees our community’s 41 location system that includes 40 branches and a Main Library serving more than 800,000 people.
Heidi Pettyjohn is Executive Director for Accessibility for the University of Cincinnati, where she serves as ADA Coordinator as well as EIT Accessibility Coordinator. Heidi provides institutional leadership and guides efforts in the sustainment of an accessible and inclusive experience for students with disabilities, staff and visitors at the University. In the past four years, her work has focused particularly in leading the university in sweeping changes to their approach to ensuring that websites and other electronic and digital content is accessible to students with disabilities, employees and community members.
Erin Rolfes is the Corporate Affairs Manager for Kroger’s Cincinnati-Dayton division. She is responsible for driving Kroger’s purpose: To Feed the Human Spirit; by engaging with the community and non-profit partners in Cincinnati and Dayton and generating uplift through storytelling and internal communications. Erin has a long history of volunteerism and community involvement with various organizations and real passion for the Cincinnati-Dayton region.
