Ohio Valley Goodwill was thrilled to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its award- winning Center for Advocacy, Recreation and Education (CARE) program on Tuesday, September 24th. The event welcomed guests from Hamilton and Butler County DD Services, family members and other interested visitors. The Open House was held to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the personal enrichment program which serves more than 70 individuals weekly. Attendees enjoyed meeting with the CARE Ambassadors and learning more about the personal enrichment and community focused program. Hallmarks of the CARE program are its diverse and plentiful opportunities for community involvement and participation offering more than 20 different options on a weekly basis. These daily and weekly outings include engagement in social activities as well as community volunteering as reflected by the expressed interests of program participants. CARE offers participation opportunities for individuals sponsored through four County Boards of Developmental Disabilities in Ohio (Hamilton, Butler, Clermont and Warren).
The three CARE ambassadors, Eddie Morgan, Kristine Agoston and Colin Harbaugh were the stars of the formal program which took place during the event and served as the debut of the new video produced by Public Information Officer, Michael Flannery. A special broadcast of the organization’s weekly Facebook Live was also a highlight of the event capturing some of the more poignant moments of the historic occasion. Check out the highlights at www.facebook.com/cincigoodwill.
The CARE program is also currently accepting referrals and tours can be scheduled by calling Sharon Hannon, Marketing Director, at (513) 771-4800, ext. 6364. Our most sincere Congratulations to CARE on its 15th Anniversary as well as to our CARE Ambassadors on such a wonderful Open House celebration.
