Ohio Valley Goodwill is pleased to join with the City of Oxford and Miami University in the 2019 ShareFest Donation Drive. The week-long event will take place May 15th-May 21st this year at Chestnut Fields in Uptown Oxford. ShareFest is an annual donation drive that prevents usable items from going to the landfill by directing them to social service agencies and nonprofit organizations around the Oxford area. A major sponsor of the annual event, Goodwill provides four trailers on site as well as a donation team.
In 2018, thousands of Miami University students and Oxford residents donated approximately 97 tons of items. ShareFest is an easy way for students and community residents to help the environment and assist people in need. This year’s donation drive promises to be one of the most successful ever based on past record-setting initial collection results. ” Ohio Valley Goodwill is delighted to be a participating agency and sponsor of the annual ShareFest donation event,” said Jeff Eastham, Goodwill Operations Director.
ShareFest 2019 donations will benefit Butler County Success, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, Open Hands Pantry, TOPSS (Oxford Choice Pantry), as well as Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries. Volunteer opportunities are available on the ShareFest website. Some groups may sell donations they receive, but all proceeds must benefit the needs of their clients.
ShareFest is a collaborative effort sponsored by the City of Oxford, Miami University, nonprofit organizations, social service agencies, local businesses, and religious organizations.
