At Ohio Valley Goodwill, we’re grateful for the donations we receive from generous members of our community just like you. That’s because donated items that can be resold in our stores help fund essential skills training and job placement services for individuals with disabilities and our nation’s veterans.
One question we often receive is, ” What can I donate?” The truth is, you might be surprised to learn about some of the things you can donate to Ohio Valley Goodwill. Along with clothing and other household items, we’re also happy to accept most electronics, flat screen computer monitors and TVs, and even car donations! Here’s a list of some of our most-needed items:
Clothing for all ages and all occasions
At Ohio Valley Goodwill, we gladly accept gently-used clothing in all sizes, for all ages and for all types of occasions and seasons! From baby and toddler clothes to wedding gowns and prom dresses, and even Halloween costumes, we are your donation destination. Your donated clothing items will be resold in our retail stores or online at shopgoodwill.com, where they will get a new life in a new home. And best of all, the proceeds from the sale of your unwanted clothing will help fund Goodwill’s mission to put people to work.
Furniture
Do you have furniture around your home that you no longer want or need? Donate it to Goodwill! We can accept donated tables, chairs, sofas, patio furniture, dressers, and more. Your donated furniture will be resold to local shoppers at affordable prices. If your furniture is too heavy to lift on your own, our local hauling partner can pick-up, load, and deliver your large or heavy items to Ohio Valley Goodwill as part of a fee-based service. There are just a few furniture items that we cannot accept, including mattresses, pianos, waterbeds, and sleeper sofas.
Small electronics, flat-screen computer monitors and TVs
Ohio Valley Goodwill is happy to accept your working VCR, stereo, radio, DVD players, gaming systems and other small electronics that you don’t use or need anymore. Any items that aren’t resold in our stores are responsibly recycled, which diverts reusable materials from local landfills and maximize the value of your donations. Ohio Valley Goodwill can also accept working flat-screen computer monitors and flat-screen TVs.
Cars
Ohio Valley Goodwill gratefully accepts vehicle donations in any condition. Do you have a used car that’s sitting in your driveway or taking up room in your garage? Take it to Ohio Valley Goodwill! Even if your car isn’t in working condition, you can still donate it. We’ll even come to you and tow your vehicle for free! Your used car, truck, SUV, RV, boat, or motorcycle will be auctioned at our weekly Auto Auction, and the proceeds raised will go on to help support Goodwill’s job training and employment services for people who need them most. You may also be eligible a tax advantage when you donate your car, truck, SUV, RV, boat, or motorcycle. Learn more here.
At Ohio Valley Goodwill, we make it quick, easy, and convenient to donate your gently-used items. Whatever you choose to give to Goodwill, you can be sure that the value of your donations will be maximized to provide the most benefit to your local community! Thanks to your support, Ohio Valley Goodwill is able to help thousands of local individuals receive the skills training, career development, job placement, and vocational support they need to become self-sufficient and fully integrated into their communities.
