How to Show Employees Your Appreciation this Labor Day
Labor Day is fast approaching but there’s still time to do something a little extra rewarding for your employees or team. After all, Labor Day is all about celebrating American workers and the contributions they make all year long. With the unemployment rate at an all-time low and good workers in demand, appreciation plays a big part in employee satisfaction and retention.

Since Labor Day has come to denote the end of the summer, what better way to celebrate than throwing a barbecue for the office or your team? Don your apron and throw the hotdogs on the grill.

We all spend a lot of our adult time in our cubes or offices, driving or on the floor, taking orders or taking meetings, making presentations or making calls. For a few hours, make it time for a little fun and relaxation with outdoor activities everyone can do together.

Creating a big impression doesn’t have to mean a big outlay. Give unique or quirky employee awards like Most Positive, Easiest to Work With or Most Likely to Participate in Company Events. Ask employees to nominate and vote for the winners who will be given their awards just prior to the Labor Day weekend.
