Team Goodwill is prepping for this year’s 109th celebration of the annual Thanksgiving race and donation drive on November 22nd. With an easy to find main donation station at Paul Brown Stadium at the start of the race, it should be easier than ever for racers to share their giving spirit during the holiday season.
This year’s race will mark the organization’s ninth year as the official Donation partner for the annual Thanksgiving Day Race. ” Ohio Valley Goodwill is looking forward to being once again the Donation partner for this year’s race and as always, we are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our community in helping with our mission of putting people to work. This year’s Goodwill Donation location at Paul Brown should make it very easy for race participants to drop off their donations of gently worn coats, jackets or other warm weather gear. Our Goodwill Donation Team will be waiting with big smiles on Thanksgiving morning and will offer a warm Thank You to all donors for their generous support,” said Sharon Hannon, Marketing Director.
After rave reviews following last year’s race, musician Mark Macomber, will once again be the featured performer at the Goodwill Music Station at Mile 2.
Mile 2 will also feature not only the fabulous sounds of Macomber on drums but also, by popular demand, the return of the Goodwill ” Selfie” Station where racers can take a quick second to commemorate their participation in this year’s race. ” We’re really excited about all the fun that runners can have during this year’s race at the Goodwill Music and Selfie stop at Mile 2,” said Hannon.
Over the past eight years of the partnership, Ohio Valley Goodwill has collected more than 30,000 pounds of cold weather running gear and coats from the generous participants in the annual Thanksgiving Day Race. Look for the Goodwill Donation truck at the start of the Race at Paul Brown Stadium and bring a coat to share. Your generous donations help put people to work in our community and Goodwill is thankful for your support.
