As the 2018 Title Sponsor for the PigAbilities event as part of this year’s very special 20th anniversary celebration of the annual Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, Ohio Valley Goodwill was delighted to be included in the Flying Pig Marathon Torch Run and luncheon event on Friday, April 13th. The Torch run was held to mark the 20th anniversary of the Marathon and the start of the Toyota 20 Days on the Run Community Festival. The luncheon which followed the 1.2 mile Torch run, took place at the Anderson Pavilion close to Smale Park in downtown Cincinnati. Goodwill representatives Vanessa Cornett, Sales Manager and Sharon Hannon, Marketing Manager, were pleased to be part of the momentous event.
PigAbilities is an option for people of all ages with disabilities, their families and friends who may not wish to participate in a competitive event, but still want to be part of the Cincinnati Flying Pig weekend. On Saturday, May 5th, participants will gather for a 1 pm start time and walk, roll or stroll the final miles on a brand new course this year. The new start line is at Paul Brown Stadium and the post-race celebration at Smale Park along the Riverfront. “We couldn’t be more excited about this year’s PigAbilities event and joining in the big 20th anniversary celebration of the Flying Pig Marathon,” said Sharon Hannon, Marketing Manager. “Our goal is to have as many athletes of all abilities, families and friends as possible join us for this year’s celebration. During the Toyota 20 Days on the Run kick-off luncheon event, Race Director, Iris Simpson-Bush, reviewed the 20 year history of the Flying Pig Marathon and all of the wonderful sponsors who have helped make the event possible.
