The evening of January 29th marked a night of fun in support of long-time Goodwill partner, the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Held at the Grainworks Brewing Company in West Chester, the evening’s event, “Brews, Bites and Battles,” was planned and organized by Friends of Citizens with Disabilities; a political action committee in support of Butler DD. Proceeds raised will be used to support the Board’s upcoming levy campaign in November 2018. Ohio Valley Goodwill’s team members joined with other supporters in attendance to compete in trivia games and to meet and connect with new and old friends.
Ohio Valley Goodwill has worked in partnership with Butler DD for almost twenty years on providing employment, training and community integration opportunities for adults with disabilities served by the Board. Goodwill has also been a member of the Friends of Citizens with Disabilities political action committee since 2003 and helps to plan fundraisers and support levy campaigns in support of Butler DD and their critical services. The Board’s mission is to support individuals so that they can successfully, live, work and learn in the community. The Board’s primary source of funding is from property tax levies collected annually. Butler DD was last on the ballot in 2004.
