At Goodwill, Thanksgiving is a special holiday that is shared by all. This year was made even more special with the introduction of new Chef, Francisco Lopez. The 2016 Thanksgiving celebration also marked the 100th anniversary celebration of the organization’s century of service in the Greater Cincinnati community.
Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Volunteer Service Guild always works in partnership with the organization’s Food Services team to provide all of the delicious trimmings expected for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. More than 700 employees and program participants partake in the annual luncheon which features turkey, dressing, green beans, potatoes, cranberry and of course, pie!
The volunteer group which has celebrated more than 80 years of service to the organization, plans and hosts the annual Thanksgiving luncheon event in partnership with Goodwill’s Food Services team. The annual Thanksgiving Luncheon is a holiday tradition that is much looked forward to by the organization’s program participants as well as staff team members. ” We enjoy hosting this event every year,” said Sue Burreson, Guild President. ” It’s always such a wonderful opportunity to come together and share the joy of the holiday season,” added Burreson.
While the Thanksgiving luncheon is always a highlight of the season, this year’s luncheon marks the commemoration of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s 100th anniversary of service of helping thousands of people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to achieve personal success through employment. ” We take great pride in our long-standing tradition of service to the Greater Cincinnati community and are so pleased that our Service Guild and our Food Services team provide this wonderful celebration opportunity,” said Joe Byrum, President and CEO.
Ohio Valley Goodwill is grateful to the Service Guild for its generous support of the annual Thanksgiving luncheon event and to its Food Services team and volunteers for their hard work on ensuring the 2016 luncheon was enjoyed by all of Goodwill’s team members.
