With the Thanksgiving holiday just around the corner, the Goodwill team is gearing up for this year’s 107th Thanksgiving Day Race and Donation Drive. This year’s race will mark the organization’s seventh year as the Donation partner for the annual Thanksgiving Day Race. The 2016 Thanksgiving Day Race is particularly significant because it takes place as Goodwill celebrates its 100th anniversary of service in the Greater Cincinnati community. ” We are very excited about this year’s Thanksgiving Day Race, as we always are, not only because of the generous donations that we receive in support of our mission of service but also, because it will serve as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of helping put people to work,” said Sharon Hannon, Marketing Manager. ” It’s hard to believe that Goodwill has been around for 100 years and in that time, has helped thousands of people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to obtain employment,” added Hannon. ” It is only through the giving spirit of donors like the Thanksgiving Day race participants, that Goodwill’s mission of service has been possible all of these years.”
Over the past seven years of the partnership, Ohio Valley Goodwill has collected more than 30,000 pounds of cold weather running gear and coats from the generous participants in the annual Thanksgiving Day Race. Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to be the official Donation partner of the 2016 Thanksgiving Day Race during the celebration of its 100th anniversary of service. Additionally, the organization is grateful to Thanksgiving Day Race Director Julie Isphording for the on-going donation partnership over the past seven years. Watch for Ohio Valley Goodwill’s Donation trucks at the start of the Race at Paul Brown Stadium and Mile 2 and bring a coat to share. Your generous donations help put people to work in our community and Goodwill is thankful for your support.
