The afternoon of Saturday, September 17th was a beehive of activity as the first-ever Wiffle Ball Tournament in support of Friends of Citizens with Disabilities took place at Joe Nuxhall Miracle League Fields in Fairfield. The day long event welcomed eight teams and at least a hundred friends and supporters to the venue which offered not only the tournament but special games for the kids, a silent auction, food trucks on site and lots of excitement. Prizes were given out for the most creative team name, team attire and fans present. Fans cheered on their favorite teams and players which included athletes served by the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
Ohio Valley Goodwill was pleased to be a sponsor of the first time Fall fund-raiser and has been a long time member of the planning committee in support of the Board’s upcoming levy campaign. Winners of the most creative team attire received a Goodwill tote bag and the organization also donated a Tuscan-themed Thanksgiving basket for the Silent Auction. The Fall event raised more than $5,000 which will be used to benefit “Friends of Citizens with Disabilities,” the political action committee serving the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
The exciting day concluded by crowning the Wiffle Ball Tournament Grand Prize Winners who will now be able to design their own custom t-shirts sponsored by Friends of Citizens with Disabilities. Goodwill was pleased to be a sponsor of the first-time Fall fund-raiser and congratulates all of the teams, players, volunteers and committee members on a wonderful family-friendly event.
