Ohio Valley Goodwill Celebrates New Store and Major Sponsor of 2016 ShareFest Donation Drive!

The 2016 celebration of National Goodwill Week will be highlighted this year by the official Grand Opening of Ohio Valley Goodwill’s newest retail store in Oxford, Ohio; very close to Miami University. The annual celebration of National Goodwill Week is always held during the first week in May and the new store is opening at 10 am today, Thursday, May 5th! The contemporary new store features a convenient drive-thru donation area, large dressing rooms, wide aisles and a fun atmosphere all designed to make for an enjoyable shopping experience. Check it out today! The local community has been abuzz waiting for the opening of the Goodwill store and at the same time planning for this year’s ShareFest donation drive which kicks off on May 11th at Chestnut Fields.

Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to be a major sponsor of the 2016 ShareFest event providing the donation trailers, attendants to assist throughout the drive as well as to help with pick-up services. The ShareFest donation drive is designed to help students to recycle responsibly their unwanted items during the annual move out week. By partnering with ShareFest students can help the environment by donating good quality furniture, clothing, appliances, food, and housewares to benefit local nonprofit organizations. ShareFest is an annual donation drive that prevents usable items from going to the landfill by directing them to social service agencies and nonprofit organizations from around the Oxford area. ShareFest is an easy way for Miami University students to help the environment and assist people in need.

ShareFest 2016 donations will benefit Butler County Children Services, Butler County Success ““ Talawanda, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati, Lighthouse Food Pantry, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, Oxford Community Choice Pantry, Preble County Habitat for Humanity, and Student Veterans Association at Miami University.

Volunteer opportunities are available on the ShareFest website at www.sharefestoxford.com and volunteers are urgently needed in support of this year’s event. ShareFest is a collaborative effort sponsored by the City of Oxford, Miami University, nonprofit organizations, social service agencies, local businesses, and religious organizations.
