The official start of the Fall season also signals the kick-off of Goodwill’s community donation drive events. The organization is celebrating its partnerships with both new and existing agencies dedicated to spreading the word about donating and recycling responsibility. Wednesday, September 23rd will mark the date for the first-ever donation drive event in partnership with the Llanfair retirement community. Located in the North College Hill neighborhood, the donation event will take place from 10 am until 6 pm on the Llanfair campus but will be open to all local residents. Goodwill will provide its new community donation trailer in the campus parking lot as well as mobile donation bins for the Llanfair residents in an effort to make the drive as accessible and convenient as possible.
In addition, the organization is once again working in partnership with Benchmark Outdoor Outfitters on their annual coat drive event. Starting now until the end of January, shoppers who donate a winter coat will receive a 10% off coupon on one regular priced, in stock item in the Blue Ash Benchmark Outdoor Outfitters store. Located at 9525 Kenwood Road, this is the third year that the generous team at Benchmark Outdoor Outfitters have partnered with Goodwill on this promotion event.
The count-down has already started for the second annual Queen Bee Half Marathon event on Friday, October 9th and Saturday, October 10th at the Duke Energy Center. Goodwill is not only a Royal Sponsor of this exciting race but also, will be providing participants the opportunity to be “good bees.” Expo attendees on Friday, October 9th will receive a ticket from the Goodwill worker bee team for every donation brought in. On Race day, a lucky winner will be announced to receive this year’s deluxe spa pampering basket. Queen Bees can also look forward to the debut of the brand new “Goodwill Bee-Tique” which will offer cold weather work out wear for only $5.00 per item! Now, that’s a good deal! The Fall Goodwill donation season will be highlighted by the organization’s participation in the annual Thanksgiving Day Race in downtown Cincinnati on Thanksgiving morning. This long-time partnership has resulted in more than 35,000 pounds of donated items being collected in support of the organization’s mission of putting people with disabilities and our nation’s veterans to work in the community.

As if that weren’t enough going on this Fall season, this year will kick-off Goodwill’s partnership with the Saturday High School Football Challenge with Local12 WKRC and STAR64. This on-going donation challenge will provide the opportunity for students to learn about giving back to their community and also to be recognized for their hard work by being named “Goodwill Athlete of the Week.” At the end of the season, one worthy athlete will be named “Goodwill Athletic Scholar of the Year” and will receive a $5000.00 college scholarship! Celebrity spokesperson Joe Walter and Public Information Officer, Michael Flannery will be part of the team recognizing the student athletes.
