The 2017 Transition Boot Camp is right around the corner and taking place once again at the Sharonville Convention Center on Friday, October 27th. Transition Boot Camp is a one-day conference for parents/caregivers, family members, educators and other professionals working with youth/young adults who have developmental disabilities who are interested in transition preparation from high school to adult life. As a Gold Sponsor for the 2017 conference, Ohio Valley Goodwill has been on the planning committee and will be an exhibitor and co-presenter at this year’s event.
In addition to the many informative sessions being offered throughout the one day conference, the 2017 Transition Bootcamp will also offer a vendor fair where attendees can connect with various service providers; recreation programs; educational options as well as transportation agencies. It is followed up with multiple in-depth booster sessions on transition topics throughout the year. The Transition Boot Camp conference and vendor fair helps families and educators better prepare for the many transitions that youth experience when moving from school to community work and life.
This year, Goodwill is excited that one of its team members, Rich Halter, Job Coaching Supervisor, is a co-presenter of the session ” Creating a Meaningful Day in the Community: Options for Fulfillment Outside of Community Employment.”
Ohio Valley Goodwill is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the 2017 Transition Boot Camp event and looks forward to the conference on October 27th.
