Ohio Valley Goodwill is excited to announce that more than 64,430 pounds of donated product was collected to benefit the organization and its mission of putting people to work at the 2016 ShareFest community donation drive that took place May 11th through May 17th in Oxford, Ohio. The ShareFest event is an annual donation drive that prevents usable items from going to the landfill by directing them to social service agencies and nonprofit organizations from around the Oxford area. As a major sponsor for this year’s ShareFest donation event, Ohio Valley Goodwill provided four on-site donation trailers at the Chestnut Fields headquarters, donation team members to organize donation collection as well as a team to provide community pick-ups as designated. This is the second year that Goodwill has been involved in the ShareFest event and is elated by the outcome of this year’s collection effort. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of this year’s donation drive effort,” said Jeff Eastham, Goodwill Operations Director. “It’s especially important to us this year, as we also became an official part of the Oxford business community with the opening of our 17th retail store,” added Eastham.
Located at 203 S. Locust Street in Oxford, the “official” Grand Opening and ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Thursday, May 26th at 9am but the new Goodwill store has been warmly welcomed by local residents already. “Goodwill is so pleased by the warm reception that we’ve received from the Oxford community to our new store and our new customers wonderful support of our mission through shopping and donating, ” said Ann Walters, Goodwill Retail Sales Manager.
